He stupidly allowed the Chinese spy balloon to completely finish it's mission over some of the most sensitive regions of the country before shooting it down, then after he's swamped with the political fallout from THAT stupidity, and compounds it by spending MILLIONS MORE to shoot down toy balloons after that!
