I have such a tough time saying this or that is my favorite of ANYTHING - movies, food, ice cream - you name it. Though I believe I am comfortable saying that Hugo's
Les Misérables is my favorite novel.
I thoroughly enjoyed Breaking Bad, but with a gun to my head, I'd say that my favorite series is a mini-series from the book by Larry McMurtry,
Lonesome Dove. As regards full-length series, with that same gun to my head, I guess that Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul would be in a three way tie for second place with Mad Men, and Sopranos would be in first place. But I could say something else next Wednesday. Probably won't, though. I
think I've nailed it.
Mind you, there is ONE scene in the television series Roots which makes it a stand out for me, and gives it a special place in my heart. It's the scene where they cut off Kunta Kinte's foot, and make him say his name is Toby. To this day, when I meet a black fella named Toby, I just automatically assume he's got his mind right.
I hope people take that in the spirit it's intended instead of jumping to the race card.
