Another entity at fault here was the group that vetted him for the job. That still does not excuse his cowardice. An expert in tactics could have gone in with a revolver, used proper cover and concealment, then brought down an inexperienced KID with an AR15. Maybe not immediately, but it could be done. He never tried.
No he should not shoot the kids, but he should shoot, even at the ceiling.
The theory is the perp will stop killing kids, and either defend himself or kill himself, or surrender.
All well and good, but the first cop may decide to wait for the second cop to arrive, to let him go first.
It may evolve into a Uvalde situation where hundreds upon hundreds of cops, wait for another to go first.
My problem is some lawyer that wasn’t there, decides to put a good guy in jail for not being good enough.
