Once upon a time, a newly installed hot line from the White House to Moscow rang at 3 am, and President Kennedy picked it up.
Some guy on the line wanted to know if Andy wanted to go fishing with him
President Kennedy said this is the hot line, between the White House and Moscow, and as your President I want to know who you are.
The guy said oh sure, and I’m Richard Nixon, and hung up
I heard that story a hundred times, before the internet.
I always wondered if the people that told it, really believed it.
