To down a commercial airliner with a transponder (private or fare paying) NORTH of Moscow might have been caused by a hidden bomb.
But think what happened.
North of Moscow is NOT a war zone.
There are four huge airports in Moscow, it’s a major hub.
That plane was assigned to Moscow AT control.
It was visible on Flight Radar around the world because it squawked.
