And my guess is that the folks whining about Affirmative Action turned a blind(not colorblind, just blind) eye to the practice of Legacy Admissions where the less qualified progeny of wealthy alumni get seats that could have gone to more qualified, albeit poorer, students of any color.
For well over forty years, two or three generations of college admissions officers have had the liberty, of giving some poor, deserving black kid a slot.
Now, the dirty low down, privileged sonsabitches have changed the settled rules.
They have also changed the rules on abortion, on “religious” liberty to hate gays in the name of Jesus, and while the government can spend about six trillion towards corporate America during Covid, it’s unconstitutional to knock ten or twenty thousand off some kid’s student loan.
All my life, I’ve read about FDR’s court packing plan in 1937, and now I understand why,
I still think it’s a mistake.
But whenever you hear MAGA cry wolf every day, what happens if the Dems get the power to actually, bring the Supreme Court back to liberal control?
