Here’s our problem, yours and mine.
When Ronald Reagan froze new machine guns in May 1986, the gun shops were peddling Remington 700s, Ruger 77s, Winchester 70s, and Savage 110s, and Glocks were not invented yet.
Last time I went in a gun shop it was 90+ % black guns, ARs and plastic blaster pistols, and Fudd guns scarce.
Not one murder has ever been committed by a registered NFA machine gun since 1934, out of almost a million registered. Not a single robbery either.
That’s because of a $200 transfer fee and a six month wait. Only gun nuts with money buy machine guns.
If Reagan had a working crystal ball, he’d have banned new AR and AK sales in 86, and put an 8 round 45 caliber exception (1911) on auto pistols, the rest banned.
There would not be hundreds of mass shootings a year. Not one school with 20 dead children and hundreds of cops cowering in the hallways.
And we were all quite happy, with a Weatherby Mark V 300 Weatherby Mag being every kid’s dream gun.
Our problem is, less than half the population owns guns.
They will eventually tire of this **** of mass murders ever day and we start trying to explain the difference between a clip and a magazine and an assault rifle and a semi automatic modern sporting rifle.
In 1986, a woman could get an abortion until the second the kid popped his head out. It was her constitutional right!!!
How did that end up?
