Only time will tell if it was a case of serendipity or simply a weird coincidence.
On the same day that I was scheduled to attend a lecture presented by Florida Tech's Lifelong Scholar Society examining our morbid obsession with serial killers, something strange happened. A source I was interviewing for the next season of my podcast series "Murder on the Space Coast," handed me a folder.
In it were detailed notes he hoped I would follow up on regarding unsolved murders in Brevard County and his belief that they may have been the work of a former Florida Highway Patrolman convicted of murder in 1990.
Timothy Harris is serving a life sentence for the rape and murder of Lorraine Hendricks, whom he had pulled over in his squad car on I-95. He left her body in a wooded area in Indian River County, where it went undiscovered for weeks.
