Call me old fashioned but when I was a kid no Christians on a school board I ever heard of would have a wrestling team. The idea of boys getting sweaty and grabbing each other seemed a likely situation for some of those wrestling boys to want to have sex with their coaches and bring the school into disrepute.
We had enough trouble with our cheerleaders chasing the coaches, without boys, too.

Jordan won state championships all four years he was in high school and compiled a 156–1 win–loss record. He then enrolled at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he became a two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion. Jordan won the 1985 and 1986 NCAA championship matches in the 134-pound (61 kg) weight class.

Jordan has been a vocal foe of same-sex marriage over the years. He introduced legislation in 2009 to block the District of Columbia from recognizing same-sex marriages performed elsewhere, boycotted a conservative event because of a gay group’s participation and gave his ticket to a presidential “State of the Union” speech to a county clerk from Kentucky who went to jail for refusing to provide marriage licenses to gay people. Before the Obergefell decision was issued, Jordan, Rep. Bob Gibbs of Holmes County and Rep. Bob Latta of Bowling Green supported a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would define marriage as “only the union of a man or a woman.”
