I still think like a Republican. My dreams are even still Republican dreams.
My good friend JC is eighty years old and was a Democrat the day he was born when his Daddy was in boot camp training for the Liberation of Europe.
JC and I visit about politics a lot and my idea of why the Governor of New Mexico would do such a politically unpopular thing was to help the Albuquerque police catch a serial killer.
JC in his booming senatorial bass voice replied
She did it for the little children, who are still too young to hate.

Those mother **** Republicans thought nobody would ever, in a thousand years, roll back even one law that makes walking around Albuquerque like it was still the Wild West seem normal.
We didn’t used to walk around packing guns.
When I was a child I never even heard of somebody waking around Springfield Missouri with a pistol.
I was 14 when Old Dogs, Children, and Watermelon Wine came out, and here I am turned 65 about five months ago.
It’s wrong to have a world where adults pack guns around.
