We had to show my birth certificate. I can remember the lady at the front desk giving us the tour, and then in a week or so my new card arrived in the mailbox.
I had no clue then, but all those little celebrations of how lucky I was to be born a Missourian in the United States of America eventually meant I was Fox News and Trump proof.

My friend JC was born and raised a Democrat and he thinks Republicanism is bad behavior and poor choices, a sort of modern day sin.
I was born and raised a Republican so I argue that Republicanism today is a sign of poor upbringing.
But we are probably both right, by degrees.
