The Supreme Court unanimously made it insanely difficult a few years ago to prove up a public official bribery case.
For example, it’s come to public attention that over the last thirty years Clarence Thomas has been flown all over creation on private jets to palatial mansions and taken extravagant vacations on super yachts. His wife was paid millions as a right wing “activist”.
All that is legal. And such things are what Menedez escaped last time. It’s legal to have wealthy generous friends.
But this is bribery without any doubt.
It wasn’t just a half million in cash (legal) it was cash stuffed in small envelopes totaling a half million.
This man will go to prison.
He needs expelled now from the Senate.
