I looked up the exact charges Trump and his aide face in Florida.

It is classic banana republic third world to charge the loser of an election with crimes. The optics of prosecuting Trump are bad. No matter how much of a narcissist and con man and utterly contemptible demagogue Trump is, 70 million of us voted for the no good bastard, and typically Trump would be setting up a presidential library by now. Why did Garland prosecute Trump?
Here’s my take on why.
Somewhere in America is the smallest town with a single night watchman.
The town has a law, the beer joint must close at one am.
The night watchman on his rounds, sees the tavern open at 2 am.
The night watchman goes inside and says, time to close up.
And the owner says **** you, and the horse you rode in on.
If the law doesn’t win that exchange America is done for.
The least officer in the smallest town, cannot ever even once be scorned, or else somebody is beyond the reach of the law.
The next President will act like Mike Pence and Joe Biden when the archives ask for their records.
