SENATE BILL 2188

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4;
Title 14; Title 47; Title 53; Title 63; Title 68 and
Title 71, relative to medication.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1.
Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 53, Chapter 1, Part 1, is amended by
adding the following as a new section:

(a) Notwithstanding another law to the contrary, ivermectin suitable for
human use may be sold or purchased as an over-the-counter medication
in this state without a prescription or consultation with a pharmacist or
other healthcare professional licensed under title 63.

(b) As used in this section, "over-the-counter medication" means
medication that may be legally sold and purchased without a
prescription.

SECTION 2.
This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare
requiring it.
