What you are not understanding is the manufactures build weapons to within what the law says and market it under a different name.  That is why I posted the CA, MA, NY and NJ ban compliant ARs.

You have to look how the bill defines an Assault Weapon.

The Illinois law says that any gun that doesn't have to be reloaded after every shot. That's the one that got upheld.
