I used to get sick every year. It was terrible.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go through 7 years of a pill form of chemo at its highest dose. It weakened my immune system.
Because it weakened my immune system, I ended up in the hospital not once but twice because of the flu. It nearly killed me twice.
I have always hated needles and avoided flu shots like the plague. Until I nearly died twice from the flu. My doctor convinced me to give the flu shot a try.
I had to admit to her I was wrong about the flu shot. I didn't get sick that year and have had the flu shot every year since. I have not been sick since I started getting that flu shot several years ago. Turns out every time I got sick, it was the flu.
I had to learn the hard way because I'm so stubborn and hate needles. It took nearly dying twice for me to give the flu shot a try.
