Your thesis is destroyed by historical precedent.

We lose our history every few thousand years - it goes kaput. Dark ages brought on by weather catastrophes and plagues see our history disappear.

Do you REALLY suppose that we only "evolved" several thousand years ago???

Because we certainly don't have any significant grasp of history past 5 or 6 thousand years.
Who knows how our history will be recorded in the future. It is possible that a record would be made that is indestructible, and available for future generations of aliens to observe.
