I'm not gonna **** on his advice - I get where it's coming from. But slacking becomes a habit and habits define us. Slacking will injure your pride, injure your sense of self, constitute you in the world as a slacker.
Being a slacker is not a button you can push, and then suddenly become a star when you decide. If you slack for 15 bucks an hour you will slack for 40 - because slackers slack and steppers step.
I'm not a stepper for my boss. I'm a stepper for ME - the most important and admirable person in my life. I don't care WHO ya are, if you're a slacker, you gotta hang your head in the presence of steppers. That's why in the work place, slackers will always, always, always band together to **** over steppers. Smart bosses protect their steppers and weak bosses don't - it's a toss up. But whichever way it goes, a stepper will give 100% until the last buzzer on the last day, and he will leave with his head held high.
I've wished more than one boss well in their future endeavors, AFTER working out a proper notice.
