Wouldn't the logic, such as it was, for a blistering attack be that they easily cave and we wrest control away from the hated bad guys?
 

I think Trump's not listening to people because there had better be lots of propaganda that turns out to be false. You know, the stuff you're bringing up. The easiest way to hope this yields a good result is to expect all your lies to be exposed.

But another war needs more solidarity. Acknowledgement from key partners at least.
Whoever those actors are... they don't seem to be rallying to his side as hoped.
Trump's "I could shoot somebody in Times Square and get away with it" moment has passed.

I still live in hope that some version of "settle down" can happen.
