I also considered the possibility that the story was not publicized to a greater degree because the couple were of mixed races (him black and her white), something not nearly as common or accepted in 1961, and I thought that hurt their credibility.
I was hopeful that such an anomaly would be revisited and addressed in the future and have to wonder if it was being suppressed, as it never was.
I had an uncle who swore he saw UFOs.
That book sounds awesome. I will have to check it out.
