No, we are not that far apart in our thinking.
I do like to read about those accounts.
We are on this planet in this time to keep evolving.
People misunderstand what karma means.
It's not about me doing something bad to you, and then someone does something equally bad to me.
Our karmic choices and actions will keep repeating until they get resolved.
Either in this life, or one that comes after.
If I was a rich person who treated poor people badly, I might choose to come back as a poor person to learn those lessons.
But, it's all based on love. Not punishment.
I believe that when we die we go to a place on the other side that matches our vibration.
A person with love in his heart will go to a loving place.
A person with hate will got to a hateful place, until he can learn and raise his vibration enough to move up.
Where does a person with curiosity in his heart go? And, before Cannonpointer goes all gay-biker on me, I mean curiosity in terms of the true nature of this Universe and anything beyond it.
Well, there are many books and teachers.
No one is an expert because it's not something that is quantifiable.
When I first started this journey, I asked my guides for the gift of discernment.
I have read and listened to countless people and schools of thought about this subject matter.
One thing that always stands out to me is the love and the energy.
Energy never dies. It just changed form. That is a verifiable fact.
We are energy. When we leave this body, we move on to another realm.
we have our life review and spend time figuring out what we learned, and what we still need to learn.
Then we can be a spirit guide for a time, or prepare ourselves for the next physical manifestation.
the concept of reincarnation is a constant around the globe.
Every culture has it.
God/Creator/Great Spirit/Allah/Buddha are all the same being by a different name.
Religion is a man made construct. Spirituality is from Source. We can be cut off from it, but it is always there for us to embrace it.
Meditation is step #1 always. Be still, and sit in your own energy.
Stop the mind. The ego is fear based. Our guides are always kind and loving. The ego wants to keep us scared and tied to the Earthly things like money, sex, and food. Once you can establish a good meditation practice, it all starts coming together.
You cannot lose anything real, and the only real thing is your soul. Physical possessions are not real. They only seem real. Eckart Tolle says that we are afraid of death because we see it as losing everything. But, truly, we are gaining everything. We will be fully awake. The trick is to die while you are still alive. To be free of fear is to live in the present.
“All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present. Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry - all forms of fear - are caused by too much future, and
not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms
of nonforgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.”
― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
