He thinks making the announcement this early is going to shield him should the DOJ, the DA in Georgia or the Manhattan DA decide to indict him.
It won't.
Whether he's running for president or not, he's a private citizen right now.
Being a candidate will not shield him.
It is still to be determined whether anyone actually has the balls to indict him.
My money is on the DA in Georgia.
