Red states get back more from the federal government than they pay in.
What is the breakdown between what goes to the state and what goes to the individuals? How much of the money is spent on people who are here illegally? How much is spent on National Parks (which generate nothing for the state and take up space)? How much is spent for military installations (which generate far less return in the economy than civilian payrolls and contribute nothing in property taxes). And that isn't everything.
