There have always been protests and rioting in this country.
None of that compares to what happened on January 6th at the Capitol building.

As for the asshole who according to you only put his feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk, he was convicted of a series of federal crimes, including obstruction of an official proceeding, civil disorder and entering a restricted building. He was also prosecuted for the theft of mail.
Oh, and he was carrying a stun gun which he most likely planned to use on the Speaker of the House had she been in her office.
