They understand the russians cannot be played out of their resources - the the russians have to be beaten out of them. And they've been tilting at that windmill for centuries.
As a child we're taught the "Jesus loves the little children" song, the wonderful cultures past and present, dances and colors, all the languages romantic and stern, etc. Just a wonderful palette of human existence that should be not just accepted but embraced in its beauty and knowledge.
Then we learn about governments and whatever laws or restrictions this morass of **** needs to survive and barely tolerate each other.
So is it the people themselves or the government that goes sour by adulthood?
