We are not isolated.  But were ARE trending in that direction. Nations are scrambling to disentangle. We have bared our teeth, ceased to disguise our true ambitions.

Iran has bent over backwards, I am not denying it has funded freedom fighters that oppose israel and the US. I'm not saying they have surrendered any and all strategic objectives or ceased to pursue those objectives. What I am saying is that they are a member state of the IAEA and have signed treaties allowing generous access to IAEA inspectors.
And that fact, all by itself, utterly eviscerates the pretense that this war has ANYTHING to do with Iran not getting a nuclear weapon.

You reference the propaganda on both sides and the confusion thereby generated. I certainly do not disagree. I understand that we had every assurance against Iran getting nukes, and we said **** that

This country has not known a day of peace in my lifetime. We are the common denominator.
I won't get into a typing exercise about this but I always feel between our barbs that there's a genuine conversation sneaking in. Something I wish there was a lot more of here by the way. Image

If Iran was allowing generous access and allowing full disclosure about true intentions, I don't understand why Iran's "overly enriched" uranium is a factor in our relations with a third party (Russia). Seems like a Club Member ain't acting in good faith and Russia has pretty much validated that by demanding they get the stuff, not us.

Also, bending over backwards isn't what I say includes relabeling suicidal zealots as "freedom fighters". They seem like useful idiots every bit as much as we have here: Gubmints prey on people all the time. You say we do it here. I say they do it there. Tomato/tomahto.
Assuming (again) the news is true about a dumptruck full of enriched uranium (a biggie), silos full of I-hate-Israel-Missiles were in place, tunnels chock full of torpedo and mine-setter boats are now ready to clog the Strait, plus who-knows-what, Iran has a part to play in the propaganda war.

Were they **** with countries around them? Were there protests/demonstrations crushed by a chaotic Iranian government? Etc. etc. Lots of questions. There are a kajillion books written AFTER these global events because the truth in the midst of the fog is lost until some time has passed.
Credible sources probably exist and they will be stand outs, I'm sure. I can wait. Until then, I live in hope that my bad tooth metaphor is kinda close to the truth no matter how much you tell me it wasn't doing anything wrong.

I just don't trust any of the **** simply based "America is always wrong". That's not my go-to position. I'm as sick of another **** years-long war coming as anybody. At the same time, your position is that we need to take stuff (land, treasure, etc.) because we've lost our way and are going broke(r). There's certainly no shortage of ammo for that argument.

Remember the big WMD Iraq ****? That was called reasonable fear and credible evidence... blah, blah, blah. Saddam poisoned tons of his own citizens which only fueled the credibility of the rational response saber-rattlers. Lots of folks (including Iran) were happy to see that **** get his.
Then, magically, we found out he was lying and playing a shell game after the fact.
Instantly, America was wrong, a liar, imperialist, racist. blah, blah, blah...

The John Kerry position - "I was for it before I was against it" rings loudly even 22 years later . . . regarding Afghanistan but it's all the same ****.
People are no **** good.  I am tired of war.  Image
