One megaton (Mt) of TNT, which equals 4.2E15  joules, can technically move a vast amount of material depending on the mechanism, such as moving over 94,000 tons of mass

The density of typical rock ranges from 2.2 billion to 3.0 billion metric tons per cubic kilometer (), with an average value often cited as 2.7 billion

Channel 1/2 km wide 50 m deep 40 km long = 1  cubic kilometer.

5 or 6 tactical nukes blow up 500-600 thousand tons of rock that has to be cleared (that didn't rain down on civilians with nuclear radiation).  You are only at least 2.15 billion tons short on your estimate. The actual crater sizes from nuclear explosions are smaller than you think.

Enjoy your pipe dreams...   Thnks for th advice..  Newt Gingrich had Trump Dementia Syndrome before it was cool.

There are a couple spots with less than a half mile of rock in the way right next to Mirella's Island.
The Deezer/5x5 Canal only has to be 90 feet deep (way more than enough) for supertankers.
Nukes could never do a clean job so we'd have to do a bit of rubble dredging no matter what.

You're being typical middle management pessimistic. Don't make me fire you.
This can be done. Light this candle, son.

Put Neidermeyer on it. He's a sneaky little **** just like you.
Please seat yourself.
