The fact is, there IS no solution to killers bent on killing. Kill the killer so he can't carry on with his death march, but that's about it. The left is grasping for straws and getting no actual solutions out there, while condemning the NRA for protecting the ordinary citizen's right to self defense.Huey » 09 Oct 2017 8:10 am » wrote:Until the left realizes that overwhelming majority of guns used in crime are obtained illegally nothing is going change. You can write all the laws you want short of banning firearms and guess what? Nothing is going is going to change.
You can ban a RIfle because it has accoutrements that make it look evil, like a military military weapon, and it is still a semi automatic sport rifle used for hunting. A bayonet mount, flash suppressor, pistol grip, etc do not make it an Assault Rifle. The AR in AR 15 doesn't make it Assault Rifle. Hell, that doesn't even stand for Assault Rifle.
Limiting the number of guns one owns won't stop mass shooting ethers. The VA Tech Shooter killed 32 people with only TWO GUNS. Neither were what the left calls assault rifles. Both were handguns. A Glock, and Walther. And VA Tech was/is a gun free zone.
Bump stock bans probably won't stop them either. First, you can bump fire a weapon with out any help. Two, they are not very good. They cause jams, and are not very accurate. As I understand it they are called spray and pray. Pray you hit what you are aiming at. They were designed to help those with physical problems so they could shoot. Made it easier to pull the trigger. Although I do agree if true automatic weapons are so hard to get they are effectively banned these should be as well.
I don't know what the solution is. But I am fairly certain that laws that don't address the problem that are knee jerk reactions designed to make it look like something is being done aren't gonna work either.
