I don't get what's "wrong" with Imperialism (part 1)

I don't get what's "wrong" with imperialism and why some people just keep demonizing it. First of all, some people can't even seem to agree on the definition of imperialism. They can't even seem to agree with each other, let alone anyone else. And I'm not even talking about all the bad arguments they throwing around. "Imperialism is bad because it's bad", "Imperialism is bad because that's what I've been told growing up", "imperialism is bad because I've been taught to hate that word", "Empire bad because the Jedi (cult leaders) say so!", "Imperialism is bad because... I don't know why it's bad, it just is!" It's like they've been brainwashed and can't even think for themselves, they can't come up with a rational argument as to why we should just outright hate imperialism and reject it off-hand. And some of them ask me, "What is your definition of imperialism? what is Imperialism to you?" To which I reply: To me, Imperialism is people getting housing, heating, food, clothes, school education, employment, health care and military protection of civilians and the forgotten men and women not being forgotten and left behind anymore (especially disadvantaged and/or discriminated people).

People had all this and so much more under the rule of Emperor Sheev Palpatine and the Galactic Empire (and their lives were so much better under the rule of the Empire than under the rule of the quarelling, good-for-nothing bureaucrates who kept fighting among them while the Jedi cult leaders sitting on the council went unchallenged as they ordered their underlings/cult members to kill or disappear every single person who didn't share their exact same interpretation of their religion). Yet some idiots would have me believe that these (Sheev and the Imperials) are "the bad guys"? That's pro-Jedi propaganda brainwashing, is what it is. If Imperialism give people all those advantages and benefits especially people who have been so disadvantaged in the past and put dinner on the tables of countless families, then Imperialism doesn't sound bad at all now, does it?
