In my state that's 10 cents per pop or beer bottle. Bring in a bag of empties and drop it off...
Now the machine counts them one at a time. You have to still do the work. No volunteers.
Then take your receipt and give it away at the counter.
Any marginal sense of community or that there's an actual "drive" is gone.
They can't even get people to actively work for the cause. I do not give anymore.
**** all "charities". I'd rather pay for some schlub's groceries in line at a supermarket.
