In a similar vein, I trust almost nothing in the world. Propagandists, liars, salespeople, relatives, etc.
Sometimes I'm forced to a decision due to limited choices. I'm never surprised when I'm disappointed.
I expect the product of low expectations.
Let's face it: People suck most of the time.
Never meet your heroes, wear a helmet, don't sit with your back to the door, etc.
