I say a very few basics. Just enough not to starve.

Need to go back to the "Commodities" handouts.

Government surplus:

Flour
Sugar
Canned Chicken 
Cheese blocks
Butter Blocks
Rice
Pasta
Powdered Milk

So much for every person in the family and you learn to cook it yourself
