Agreed. There are a lot of examples of songs that would not be released today and frankly I'm surprised that the PC police haven't stopped them from being played on oldies stations. Two that come to mind are Ruby by Kenny Rogers. In it he says "If I could move I'd get my gun and put her in the ground."
Another one is Delilah by Tom Jones. In it he says "She stood there laughing. I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more."
Chances are they don't even pay attention to oldies stations. Which is fine with me. These songs don't bother me at all.
