The jury rejected her rape claim, but found Trump liable for a lesser degree of sexual abuse than rape. In July 2023, Judge Kaplan clarified that the jury had found that Trump had raped Carroll according to the common definition of the word.
Trump was never charged with rape because there was no evidence he raped anyone. Furthermore, the civil suit will likely get overturned.
