Cannon argued that Russian soldiers near the Polish border should be taken as proof of Russian military success. Thousands of them started near the Polish border in Belarus so it isn't the proof that Cannon imagined.
Belarus' leader Lukashenko is walking a tightrope. He's got lots of Russian troops in his country and Putin is using it as a staging area. It would be quite easy for Putin to remove him. He is also aware that this is all very unpopular with his countrymen and they could not quite as easily remove him, too.

I'll go along with the experts. Lukashenko will continue to mouth platitudes that are soothing to Putin, saber rattle at Ukraine, and promise actions tomorrow that never actually occur. He'll wait until one side or the other makes a decisive victory, real or imagined, and then frog forcefully to that side. That might not save him. It's pragmatic so most likely.

When CP made his ambiguous statement I didn't think about the Russian troops in Belarus. I thought CP was attempting to pretend the missle fired from Russian airspace that landed about 10 miles from the Polish border meant there were Russian troops 10 miles from the Polish border.  CP is known far and wide for that type of ****.

CP is also fat and wide. Squeaky, too. But that's a different conversation.
