Covid fears were waning. Trump could not be allowed a second term. Threat of rona wouldn't ensure a Biden victory so more was needed. Same gun was held to the heads of the Chauvin jurors. Vote guilty or the city burns and you will be targeted with violence the rest of your lives. Jurors knew they wouldn't remain anonymous, knew a not guilty verdict would cost lives. Voters knew if Trump was elected cities would continue to burn. Regretfully many chose the promise of peace at gunpoint.RedheadedStranger » 25 Nov 2023, 3:15 pm » wrote: ↑ I believe any of the other officers present would have done the same thing Chauvin did because that's is exactly what they are trained to do.
In fact, two other officers were actually restraining Floyd the entire time as well on the other side of the cruiser, only out of view of the street photographer shooting the video.
The only reason they went after Chauvin so hard was because of where he ended up outside of the cruiser when Floyd wiggled his way out of the backseat while they were trying to arrest him.
Chauvin went down because the State needed a scapegoat and his was the face of the moment because of his dumb luck. Chauvin shouldn't have been scrutinized any more or less than the other three officers present, because any one of them would have done the same as he did given the circumstances.
