quar·an·tine
/ˈkwôrənˌtēn/
noun
  1. a state, period, or place of isolation in which people or animals that have arrived from elsewhere or been exposed to infectious or contagious disease are placed.
    "many animals die in quarantine"
verb
  1. impose isolation on (a person, animal, or place); put in quarantine.
Now if a single human is infected with a contagious disease, and he is put into quarantine, it lessens the risk of others being infected.  To extrapolate that concept on a global scale, it would seem that a country being separated from other countries, in a sort of macro quarantine, would also reduce the risks of infection, no?

Why is quarantine only effective on a small scale?  Please explain.

Physically insulate and isolate. How is it done psychologically without ancestors recognizing it is done to them ancestrally? Rhetorical question by the way.
