Unfortunately it was true. This happened in the community that he lives in and it could very well have been one of my grandkids.
This asshole pointed a Glock 27 pistol (which he was sure was not loaded) at his nephew's forehead and pulled the trigger.
Seems any idiot can own a gun in this country, and if it were up to the NRA, every idiot would.
Yes, you should handle every gun as if it were loaded, and if this jackass had been required to take some kind of a gun safety course before he was able to purchase a firearm, perhaps his nephew would still be alive and he would not be headed to prison.
I had a friend whose father was an FBI agent. One day he took us aside and talked to us about firearms safety. He put the above in the best language I think it can be put. He said
"There's no such thing as an empty gun."
