I didn't lie.  Even under the blanket CIB orders the recipients had to actively participate in combat.  Which is the argument.  Not just hear it, not just be near it,  not just in a unit they are assigned to a combat zone.  You can not award it to someone who was not actively engaged in ground combat. Meaning Hegseth was actively engaged in ground combat.  Contrary to YOUR lie.   

Requirements for Valid CIB Awarding:

• Individual Qualification: The soldier must be an infantry/Special Forces MOS, assigned to an infantry unit, and actively engaged in ground combat.
• Documentation: Unlike medals, the CIB often uses "extract" orders covering several members.
