if a child is born in south africa to a Canadian mother and a South African father, is the child considered to ba an anchor baby?

No—not in the usual sense of the term. “Anchor baby” is a pejorative label generally used for a child born in a country to noncitizen parents, supposedly to help the parents gain immigration or citizenship benefits. Here, the father is South African, and a child born in South Africa with a South African parent is generally a South African citizen by birth. The child may also qualify for Canadian citizenship through the mother, depending on her circumstances and the rules in force when the child was born.

nod…

He is an idiot.
