Thanks F Man...
Yeah, it does make sense. If they shut SS down I hope they give us a lump sum. I was not a super whimp at making money but I could have produced more tax revenue and not enjoyed so much dining out.
Man, if they had allowed Cannabis in my Bloodstream I might have gotten on the Submarine back in the day. The drug tests hampered my ability to be a high payer into the kitty my entire career. I was capable, they just feared that Nancy Regan would haunt them I guess.
I sure hope THC doesn't ruin young peoples futures. It's a shame it was all about locking up young black males in prisons for profit. I could fly a Space Shuttle stoned as Snoop Dog.

Johnny, I graduated from Stoner High at semester break with a 3.7 GPA. Took the ASVAB and scored 97%. They wanted me to be a Navy ET/NUC. Then I found out what the pay was. $6k a year. That didn't really fit my vision. Ended up in Alaska in 1980 and made $18k my first year, working the slime line on floating fish processors no less. I didn't get to see the world but I've been places 99.99% of the population will never see.

Was about as close to the Wild West as could be back then.
Could have been the wrong choice but it's possible those submarine jokes were true?
I was a little surprised when SS did their final adjustments, my average 35 year wage ended up being $43k which gave me a little better than average SS benefit at 62. The wife has always made more money and her benefit will only be 3-400 dollars more a month.
You did your part, it's time to collect!
