I read some article stating that one third of households making between $100-150k are living paycheck to paycheck. While government policy will have some effect on that household, their own actions are far more weighted and have set them up for some pain. The government doesn't decide how big of a mortgage you have, how much debt is carried on plastic, how many new cars are in the driveway. I see the current situation of many households as self inflicted on many fronts. but it is a reflection of economic hardship most Americans are feeling under this government and it's policies .
To state that Americans and the economy are doing good is a misrepresentation of the Truth ....
There is considerable truth in BV's statement that "Americans are financially illiterate".
It's refreshing to know that some of the younger crowd are not buying into the "keeping up with the Jones's" way of life. They will be better off in the long run.
I've watched 13 homes being built over the last year and a half. All sold before completion or within 30 days. The economy looks good from my window.
