Yep...close the week before Thanksgiving. Hopefully the rates with drop enough next year (they almost always go down during an election year) for us to refinance. We plan on having the mortgage only a few years...so if they don't it's no big deal.
I remember reading your plans for the mortgage. Congratulations on the generational wealth when it comes, that puts you well into the top 1% of inheritance.
For others reading this, don't plan too much on an inheritance. The average is $46k and for the bottom 50% get $10k or less.
Have a friend who's Dad just died, the VA is refusing to pay the $750k hospital bill, phoof goes the estate!
