Just curious, where in the **** do you think the government GETS what they GIVE?
And try comparing apples to apples, rather than grapes to watermelons. Even though it was a mistake sending out the COVID checks, for people like me and the OP it was the government sending me back money they had taken from me in the past.
The government doesn't have the money, it will get added to the national debt. ( One trillion in the hole so far this budget year) Servicing that debt is pennies on the dollar. The real rub here is someone is getting something you won't. You probably feel the same way about SNAP payments.
You didn't get a **** dime back from previous years of tax payments, those stimulus payments were 100% added to the national debt. If you insist on looking at it that way, just think of it as a refund for future tax payments for those that might get a break.
I get it, it's annoying. I helped pay off $42k in school loans and didn't even get to go to college.
We don't get much say in who gets help or not from our government. Like I said, if you are fortunate enough to get something out of government, take it.
I realize this is not a popular position to take but **** it, it could change a lot of people's lives.
