I simply reminded him that Aristotelean science is based on three fundamental premises, the first of which is that a thing is defined by its characteristics, NOT by fiat utterances. Possession of a penis and scrotum are an objective measure that define a primate as male. Calling that primate a female - or that primate calling itself a female - does not make it one. It remains objectively male, and denial of this objective reality remains anti-science.
In science, I reminded him, that is known as an "authority fallacy" - and only the parents of young children are legitimately able to use "Because I SAY so" as an authoritative utterance. Males are not magically transformed into females, nor females into males, by rote recitation of some magical utterance. The obvious mental wound left by his incapacity to refute this simple utterance was writ large on his face. I feared (but also hoped) he might burst into tears.
