The biggest issue I have with the present method is that each Doctor was a vested interest in giving me the maximum amount of healthcare billing. I don't know whether my orthopedist sees me as a patient; or as the double hip replacement that pays for the down payment on his boat.
There is a real conflict of interest. I read an article by a Doctor who was fired for telling a terminal cancer patient to go home and spend the remaining time with her family, because there wasn't any hope. The head of the cancer unit told her that they had just finished building a state-of-the-art chemo unit, and they needed warm bodies in the chairs.
