Did you work a 12 hour shift, 6 days a week, in a coal mine when you were 6 years old?
BTW, the newsboys didn't go to school; they worked 10 hour shifts, 7 days a week. Some of them were as young as 7 years old.
The textile factories employed 7 year old children, who stood on stools, and regularly had their fingers chopped off when they got tangled in the machines.
