Naturally, terlet paper, paper towels and that sort of things - as well as household emergency items - are in good supply. My home is 100% electric, but has a 24 kw Generac powered by propane as back up in case the grid sputters, and my 1000 gallon tank is at capacity, which is enough for a full month of normal electric-usage, or several months of rationed electricity off grid.

I would wager that my family eats far better than yours - and far more cheaply. I would bet that our dogs eat better than you do (or soon will, Ramen-breath).

In the zombie apocalypse that your kind are bringing on, there will be the prepared and the desperate. If that day never comes, we will continue to circulate and replenish our stock, FIFO, always prepared and always eating at years below current market prices. If ever a member of our extended community needs a helping hand, we are well-positioned to provide it.

For those with ears, a tip: Jimmy Johns sandwich shop gives away their food grade pickle buckets with lids for free - just ask. It's likely that other sandwich shops do, too - I have not checked. And remember - ALWAYS use  dunnage racks of some sort; never store food on the ground. Temperature differentials promote spoilage. If you just look at some of the disused shelving or lumber in your garage or shed, you will likely find something to repurpose and not have to spend a nickel to keep your stock fresh. If you buy eggs by the flat, the corrugated cardboard is probably sturdy enough to keep a bucket or two off the ground - especially doubled up. But 4-6 inches off the floor is ideal - egg containers should be temporary and are far better than nothing until you find the right price or the right material to repurpose.
