The grasshopper smirked - the ant continued his preparations.
I am a prepper. I've done the math, and I don't feel differently. And I cannot remember the last time I had mac and cheese.
I have split peas, navy bens, great northerns, pintos, grits, corn flour, wheat flour, canned meats (my own and store bought) canned and jarred organic tomatoes and pastes, many raw sunflower nuts and sesame seeds which I roast as needed for kitchen stock, easily 75 pounds of pasta and 300 pounds of rice, many pounds of sprouting seeds which provide higher quality micro-greens than I could ever justify buying at market prices, many nut butters and preserves, many pounds of butter and lots of dehydrated dairy, more than two gallons of ghee in smaller containers, many pounds of Celtic Sea Salt and course-ground black pepper and curries and thai curry pastes, dehydrated onions by the #10 can, gallons of cold pressed olive and avocado oils, gallons of jalapeno peppers, hundreds of pounds of deep-frozen meats bought in season (for example, after St. Patrick's, stock up on beef brisket, in early Fall, set in turkey and beef steak stores, late Spring/early Summer for chicken - that sort of thing). I have deep frozen shrimps and fishes at just about half what they go for now -
if you can even find them.
The above is a short list - the major stuff. I left a lot out.
