I've also noticed many new poorly made/written/acted movies churned out which portray the town's white Sheriff as the bad guy, or even a drug kingpin, usually in a hayseed atmosphere. If the ad has a group of friends hanging out, there is almost always one asian and one or two black folks and a lone white girl in the mix. If there is a white guy in the group, he's usually the one doing something stupid or is the butt of the joke.
To be such a small segment of society, those gay folks sure have strong representation in advertising these days because at least every other ad either features a lesbian or queer couple somewhere in the mix.
It's definitely noticable.
